Exposing yourself to aromatherapy on a regular basis can provide you with many health benefits including reduced stress, cleared airways, increased energy, and a greater sense of wellbeing. There are a variety of ways to use aromatherapy, some you may be aware of and some you may not. Here are 5 ways you can incorporate aromatherapy into your everyday activities.
Take your favorite essential oils and dilute them in a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil. You can then put the mixture into a roller ball you can carry around in your pocket or purse. Whenever you want to expose yourself to the smell, all you need to do is take it out and roll it onto your skin. Not only will you reap the benefits of inhaling the scent of the oils, you'll smell amazing to those around you!
A diffuser works to disperse the aroma of essential oils evenly throughout a room. The oils will mix with water vapor and that vaper will typically rise from the top of the diffuser. These can be especially useful during seasonal changes as you can release oils into the air to help ease your breathing.
If you want to take aromatherapy with you everywhere you go, try using diffuser jewelry. These come in both necklaces and bracelets and have small diffuser pads that you insert into the jewelry after adding a couple drops of your essential oil.
Car fresheners are another type of diffuser you can use. Similar to that of diffuser jewelry, car fresheners also come with a pad for you to drop your oils onto. Stick it onto your air vent and your car will quickly fill with your desired aroma. If you don’t want to buy one, you can also make your own car freshener.
One of the easiest ways to incorporate aromatherapy into your daily routine is by adding a few drops of essential oil to your load of laundry. You can also purchase a fragrance-free laundry detergent and add as much oil to it as you like. Some brands are now exclusively using essential oils in their products to avoid side effects artificial fragrances can cause such as skin rash and headaches.
